Last week, the Eagle reported that Mid-Rivers Communications recently announced that the cooperative awarded fourteen educational technology grants to educational facilities and non-profit entities around the Mid-Rivers service area. Ekalaka Public Schools first, fourth and fifth grade students will benefit from $4,000 in grant money. First grade teacher Mrs. Kristy Frye and fourth and fifth grade teacher Charlotte Kalstrom will use the funds for Lego Robotics Kits and iPads to teach math science and engineering. Mid-Rivers representatives stopped by Ekalaka Elementary on Tuesday morning to award the grant.
