Against the Terry Terriers last Friday night at home, the Bulldog volleyball team won a match in three sets, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-16. The team totaled 18 aces, 31 kills, 25 digs and 26 assists in the match. Whitney Kittelmann led the team in aces (7) and assists (11). Heather LaBree tied for the lead in kills with Gracie Tooke (6) and had the Bulldogs’ only block.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs had the chance to play six different teams in eight, two-set matches at a tournament in Scobey. The Dogs won both sets they played against Bainville, 25-10 and 25-10. Blue had 22 digs in the match. Against Wibaux, CCHS dropped two sets, 15-25 and 11-25.
A close match against Circle saw Blue win the first set, 25-18, and lose the second, 22-25. Heather LaBree had 8 of the team’s 32 digs and Whitney Kittelmann totaled 11 of 16 team assists.
Blue dismantled Lustre, 25-11 and 25-11. Heather LaBree had 6 kills and Hannah LaBree had 4 aces in the contest.
The Dogs dropped two sets to Scobey, 17-25 and 9-25. Codi Melton and Heather LaBree tied for a team-high in kills with 3. Whitney Kittelmann, Ella Owen and Heather LaBree each had 4 digs.
The Bulldogs took two consecutive sets from Savage, 25-12 and 25-18. Whitney Kittelmann led the team in aces (4 of 10) and assists (12 of 20).
In a second match against Scobey, Blue was victorious in two sets, 25-22 and 25-19. Kenzie Tooke had two of the team’s 5 assists and Kari Kittelmann led the team in digs with 5.
Wibaux took two more sets from the Dogs in the tournament, 16-25 and 12-25. Hannah LaBree led the team in assists (8 of 13) and tied for a team-high in aces (1) and kills (4).
This Friday CCHS will play in Wibaux. The team will travel to Northern Cheyenne for games on Saturday.
