Blood drive yields 24 units

Last week’s blood drive in Ekalaka fell short of goal, according to coordinator Darlene-Carter Rose. The drive yielded twenty-four units of blood from 22 donors, one number shy on both accounts.

Some of the donors with scheduled appointments were sick and a few were turned away because it hadn’t been long enough since they last donated. Both were factors that contributed to the drive not reaching it’s goal, Carter-Rose said. The drive was moved up one week due to scheduling conflicts.

As of Tuesday, a door prize winner from the drive had not yet been drawn

The next blood drive in Ekalaka will take place on Tuesday, November 5 at Carter County Events Center. All residents are encouraged to attend.
