CCHS Volleyball rallied back at home after losing their first two sets of the season to beat Circle 3-2 last Friday. The Bulldogs lost the first set, 18-25 and the second, 22-25. They then won the third set, 25-23, the fourth set, 25-14, and the final set, 15-13. Junior Ella Owen had a team-high 6 aces. Gracie Tooke and Heather LaBree each had 12 of the team's 44 total assists. Gracie Tooke had 19 of the team's 82 digs and Whitney Kittelmann had 38 assists.
On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Fairview for a tournament. The Bulldogs won two of their four games at the tourney.
In the first game, Blue lost to Westby-Grenora in two sets, 19-25 and 21-25. Ella Owen and Heather LaBree each had two aces. Owen also led the team in digs with 10. Hannah LaBree led the team in kills with 7. Whitney Kittelmann had 12 of the team's 13 assists.
In game two, CCHS defeated Broadus in two consecutive sets, 25-20 and 25-19. Hannah LaBree had 5 kills and Ella Owen led in digs with 6 of the team's 20.
The Wibaux Longhorns defeated the Bulldogs in the third game on consecutive sets, 12-25 and 18-25. The Dogs had only two aces in the contest; Kenzie Tooke and Heather LaBree each had 1. Hannah LaBree had a team-high 7 digs and Whitney Kittelmann led in assists with 6.
In the final game of the tournament, CCHS evened their tournament record to 2-2 with a two-set win over Terry. The Bulldogs handily won the first set 25-11, and took the second 25-16. Four Bulldogs: Ella Owen, Heather LaBree, Heidi LaBree and Whitney Kittelmann had 3 digs in the match. Gracie Tooke and Heather LaBree shared for a team-high (4) kills.
This Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs will play Jordan at home for homecoming. High school contests are set to begin at 5 p.m. Prior to high school contests, the junior high volleyball team will play at 3 and 4 p.m.
