Makoshika State Park will host a Star Party at Medicine Rocks State Park on Thursday, August 29, at 9 p.m.
Montana State Parks and Carter County Museum are teaming together to bring Star Party, an astronomy viewing event, presented by Steve Hobe, Adler Planetarium facilitator. Attendees will enjoy a night full of activities and opportunities to observe and learn about the stars, the moon and the planets.
Star Party Schedule:
• 9 p.m. – Making Craters! Explore how meteorites affect the planet and have shaped lunar geology.
– Scopes and Skies: Look through telescopes to explore the moon, planets and beyond.
• 10 p.m. – Sky Watch Live! An hour-long interactive presentation of the night sky. Topics include constellation orientation and stories, planets and the zodiac and the moon’s effect on the world.
• 11 p.m. – UV Experiments: Explore how ultraviolet light can change the way surroundings are perceived, including fossils.
