Chamber news

The annual city wide garage sale, the Chamber’s first big event to kick-off the summer season, was a great success. There were several sales, vendors and customers. It was a beautiful day and fun was had by all. The chamber thanks those that held sales and thanks vendors and customers for helping to make it a success. We’re already getting excited for next year!

Carter County Chamber’s next big event will be the Fourth of July Family Fun Bash! We are in the process of planning some fun, family activities and games that will begin at 4 p.m. on Main Street. Once again there will also be a beautiful fireworks display at dusk. The chamber is currently accepting donations for the display. Anyone who would like to contribute can drop donations off at Stompin’ Grounds. Please make checks out to Carter County Chamber of Commerce.

Later this summer, July 27 and 28, Carter County Museum’s 7th Annual Dino Shindig will take place. There will be children’s activities, paleontologist lectures, a field expedition and a street dance on Main Street on Saturday night.

The museum also has a program for kids with scheduled activities happening all summer from now through the month of August. Additionally, there are star parties and speakers at the museum throughout the summer.

Check out the museum website for a schedule of events and the chamber Facebook page for events and dates as well.

Dawg House Pub has live music and street dances planned throughout the summer. The pub has live music scheduled for June 23, July 4, July 13, July 20, July 27 (Dino Shindig) and both Friday and Saturday during the Days of ‘85.

Before long, August will be here and it will be time for the Days of ‘85 Fair and Rodeo which will be full of street dances, parades, the bump-n-run and a multitude of other activities.

Carter County is the place to be for summertime fun!
