The Southeast Electric Essay Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship sponsored by Southeast Electric Cooperative, Inc. This year's recipient is Coven Kautzman. Kautzman was asked if she had unlimited funding what community service project would she start? She would love to start a summer school program for elementary students. She has done her research and is more than ready. She has a list of supplies needed, why the program is needed and the benefits that it holds for elementary children. The cooperative hopes that Kautzman finds someone with unlimited funding to start her program. It would be very beneficial to her community. Coven is the daughter of Ted and ReAnn Kautzman of Capitol, Montana. Her plans for the fall are to attend North Dakota State University.
The Basin Electric Power Cooperative Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship sponsored by Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Southeast Electric Cooperative, Inc. Caleb Fix is the 2019 recipient of this scholarship. Fix was asked to describe how a cooperative can build a culture to best serve its members. He wrote about hosting events in the community for things such as flu shot clinics and fundraising. He also believes that scholarships are a good way to give back. Caleb is the son of Robbie and Jana Fix of Ekalaka, Montana. He plans to continue his education at Montana State University in Bozeman and major in Fish and Wildlife Management.
This year Upper Missouri Power Cooperative awarded their Basin Electric Power Cooperative Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 to a student from Southeast Electric Cooperative, Inc. Kennedy Tooke is the 2019 recipient of this scholarship. Tooke stated that a cooperative culture is based on basic principles; member engagement being the most important. Kennedy is the daughter of J.O. and Kim Tooke. She will be continuing her education at Casper College where she is pursuing a degree in Pre-Occupational Therapy.
