Commencement exercises for the Carter County High School Class of 2019 were held on Saturday. A large crowd of family and friends gathered to wish the one-hundredth CCHS graduating class well. Though a small class with only six students, they were still double the size of the first graduating class of 1919. In addition to being a milestone year, the graduation will be memorable as over five inches of wet, heavy snow covered the ground for much of the day.
Former superintendent Allison Hardin delivered the commencement address. Guidance counselor Cathy Frye and Head Cook Tricia Lovec were recognized for their many years of service as both will be leaving CCHS at the end of the year. Caleb Fix (second from left) gave the salutatorian address and Tori Tooke (third from left) delivered the valedictorian address.
