In a JV game at Plevna last Friday, the CCHS boys won by 14, despite committing 28 turnovers. Shane Burkhalter had a good game from the field, scoring all 14 of his points from inside the three-point arc. Blue went 2-7 on free throws; the Cougars were 4-10.

CCHS Varsity played in an exciting back-and-forth game at Jordan on Saturday. The Dogs were up by one at the end of the first, down by two at halftime and down by four at the end of the third. Senior Caleb Fix scored 7 of his 18 points in the final frame to help Blue come back and win the game by 2. Blue committed 25 turnovers compared to 16 for Jordan. They shot 56 percent from the free-throw line. Mick O'Connor scored 12 points in the first quarter; six of them from behind the arc.

CCHS is currently sitting in third place in the District 4C standings, behind Melstone and Wibaux. This Friday they play Northern Cheyenne at home and will travel to Wibaux on Saturday. Next weekend they will play in Terry and at home vs. Custer/Hysham for senior night.
