Twenty-three donors gave 29 units of blood at the last community blood drive in Ekalaka. Four new donors attended and 12 walk-ins helped organizer Darlene Carter-Rose to achieve her goal. She was especially grateful to reach her goal since National Blood Donor Month is celebrated in January each year.
Carter-Rose said that the drive ran smoothly and that United Blood Services has really streamlined their operations, making the process of donating much more efficient than it used to be.
April French won a door prize at the drive that included a basket full of jars of jam and napkins donated by Les and Deb Dorris.
