Bulldogs win in Baker

On December 11, CCHS traveled to Baker to take on the Spartans.

In JV boys action the Dogs trailed by five at halftime, but scored only 12 in the second half and eventually lost, 27-44. Turnovers and free throw shooting were problems. CCHS turned the ball over 24 times and shot only 42 percent from the charity stripe. Jaden Pardee, CCHS, and Jaxon Tronstad, Baker, tied for a game high 11 points.

In varsity action, CCHS took an early lead, 11-8, at the end of the first quarter. An 18 point second quarter helped propel them to a two point victory. The Bulldogs had 18 turnovers compared to 16 for the Spartans. CCHS hit 18, two-point field goals and one three-pointer. As a team, they shot 67 percent on free-throws. Mick O’Connor led all scorers with 23 points. Three CCHS players finished the game in double figures.

On Saturday at home, the Bulldogs played against the Broncs of Melstone. Melstone’s defense proved tough to crack as they held the Dogs to just 24 points while forcing 26 turnovers. As a team, CCHS shot 6-21 from the free-throw line. Melstone senior Brody Grebe led all scorers with 32 points.
