Preschool screening set for October 23

Ekalaka Public Schools will be hosting a preschool developmental screening on Tuesday, October 23, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the grade school gym.

The screening will be for children aged 0 - 5 who are not currently in kindergarten. Children whose parents have concerns about their development, as well as children who completed the screening last year and were flagged for re-screening should attend.

Children with an IEP, and children who were screened last year and were not flagged for re-screening, do not need to attend.

Children aged 3 - 5 years will be screened in the following areas: Concepts/Thinking Skills, Motor Skills, Speech/Language Development and Hearing.

Children under 3 will be screened by DEAP staff using the Brigance. Hearing will also be evaluated.
