CCHS volleyball enjoys successful homecoming

Last Friday, CCHS volleyball played JV and varsity matches against Jordan for homecoming.

In the JV contest, CCHS battled but came up short, losing their first two sets, 23-25 and 20-25. In a third set to 15, the girls won 15-8. The Mustangs then won the fourth set 15-11, securing a victory. Ella Owen, Jaelee Strangford, and Tylee Loehding led CCHS with 3 kills each in the contest. Kenzie Tooke led in assists (5) and aces (5), Loehding led in digs with 11, and Strangford led in blocks with 3.

CCHS handily won the varsity match in three sets. The first set was the closest, 25-18, the second ended 25-14, and the final set was 25-11. CCHS had 25 kills and an impressive 54 digs in the match, compared to 9 kills and 11 digs by the Mustangs. Claire Callahan led the way with 8 kills and Heather LaBree led in digs with 16. Tori Tooke totaled 13 of a total 21 team assists.

On Saturday, CCHS played another homecoming varsity contest against the Terry Terriers. It was again a short, three set match with Blue coming out on top. CCHS won the first set 25-5, the second 25-11, and the third 25-19. As a team, they had a total of 17 aces, Terry had none. CCHS also had 34 kills, compared to just 9 for the Terriers.

The girls will travel to Broadus this Saturday to take on the Hawks.
