Are you interested in becoming part of a growing network of observers in southeast Montana who measure rain, snow and hail, and who share the information through an interactive website?
The National Weather Service will be in Broadus, Montana on Friday, September 21 for a training session on the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network known as CoCoRaHS. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow). By using low-cost measurement tools and utilizing an interactive Website, the focus is to provide the highest quality weather data in support of the National Weather Service, assisting meteorologists with local forecasting and post storm analysis.
This training is FREE and open to anyone interested in learning more about how NWS weather observations are taken and possibly becoming a part of this CoCoRaHS network.
