Barbara Gundlach Fisher Holm

"She was tall in the saddle until her blister broke." A favorite joke and one our funny Mother would appreciate. The world lost a wonderful soul and friend on Feb. 21, 2018. Barbara Gundlach Fisher Holm died in Cody, WY after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a talented artist with oil paintings in many private collections around the world, a well-known antique dealer and a regular at Tiny's Tavern until her disease stopped her from her regular routines and the things she loved.

Barbara was born to George and Frances Gundlach on May 26, 1933 in Ekalaka, MT and was one of 14 children. She moved from Ekalaka to Billings in 1950 where she met John Fisher who was stationed in Billings in the Ground Observation Corps of the Air Force. They were married in 1955 and had four daughters: Jamie, Stephanie, Leslie and Missy. John and Barbara were married 21 years and were divorced in 1976. Barbara was also married to Bob Holm from 1980-2001.

She leaves behind daughters: Jamie (John) Dennehy and her two children, Cortney and Corby (Crystal). Stephanie (Roger) Hale and her son, Tyler (Jolene). Leslie (Bill) McPherson and their children, Emmie (Travis), Mack and Mitch. Missy (Carlos) Jones and their children, Karli (Jake) and Taylor. She also has twelve great grandchildren.

Many people in Billings have their own favorite Barb story and we invite all of you to join us to celebrate her life at Tiny's Tavern, Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.

A graveside memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 11, 1 p.m. at Beaverlodge Cemetery in Ekalaka. Refreshments will follow.
