Diana Roby of Casper, Wyoming and some friends will be selling various crafts, sweet and salty snacks, beverages and $1 raffle tickets for a beautiful red, white and blue fireworks and United States flag themed lap quilt throughout the Days of ‘85 in Ekalaka this weekend. This beautiful quilt measures 42” x 55”.
Roby will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota to donate one of her kidneys to a friend in need this September. This fundraiser is an attempt to cover her and a mandatory travel companion’s expenses for lodging and meals.
Sometimes miracles can be as simple as good people with good hearts. Roby is one of those people. When a friend expressed concern for her well being, she replied, “I won’t be careless in my journey, I have to help someone else feel better so I must take care of me first.”
After the fair is over, the quilt will be on display at A&A Stieg Wholesale. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase there until the drawing on Friday, September 8. Look for the “Girl Power” group at several Days of ‘85 events and venues this weekend to purchase a chance to win and support Roby.
Diana Roby is the daughter of Linda Harpster and a 1984 CCHS graduate.
