Pet paraders get in gear

The 24th Annual Carter County Fair Pet Parade is scheduled for noon on Friday, August 10 at the bleacher area of the fairgrounds. Registration is from 11 a.m. until noon. This colorful event is sponsored by the Carter County Fair Board and Marshall Ranch. All participants aged 0 days to 85+ years are encouraged to show and compete for a few bucks to get them through the Days of ‘85 celebration. There is no entry fee, no age limit and no pet or species restrictions. Get yourself and your pet(s) together and parade around in front of a cheering audience.

Categories for this year are: “Send in the Clowns… Circus Circus” and “Go Western” (anything and everything Western). The judges’ overall favorite will receive $25, and $15 will be given to first place in each category, $10 for second and $7.50 for third. All entries who don’t place will receive $5 to help them survive the Days of ‘85.

Three judges, an announcer, ringmaster(s) and tally master(s) will be announced in next week’s Eagle. Rope, grab or nab your pet(s) and get creative to win some cash on August 10.
