Summer reading program starting soon

The Ekalaka Public Library's Summer Reading Program starts Thursday, June 7. Children aged seven and older will meet from 1-2 p.m. and children six and under will meet from 2:30-3 p.m.

All children are welcome, at any time or day, during library hours.

Children are encouraged to track their reading throughout the month to earn monetary incentives and ice cream coupons donated by the Wagon Wheel Cafe.

Librarian Pat Kalstrom will chart the children's progress and set up activities with the help of Valerie O'Connell.

The program will continue every Thursday until June 28 when prizes donated by the Main Street Market will be awarded to the top boy and girl readers in each age group.

Please, sign your children up for their age group ahead of the start date so the library can have adequate supplies.

Contact librarian Pat Kalstrom at 775-6336.
