To Whom It May Concern:

I, along with many of you, learned last week of the horrible events in Casper, WY when officer Jacob Carlson was shot five times in the line of duty. Did you know that he has thus far received over 100 units of blood and blood products to save his life? United Blood Services is a nonprofit community blood center, providing blood and blood products for local area hospitals and patients like officer Carlson. They exist to make a difference in people’s lives, by producing a safe and ample blood supply, advancing cutting-edge research and embracing continuous quality improvement.

There is a hero inside each of us, ready to make a difference when others need our help. When you donate blood you are a hero, and you can get that feeling over and over again throughout the year. Think about how the people who needed those donations feel about you. You are, without a doubt, a hero to them.

To find the hero in you, make an appointment today by calling me at 406/775-6431 for the drive on Tuesday, May 22 at the Carter County Events Center from 1:30-5:30. Every unit collected affects the lives of three recipients. Find the hero in you…give blood 3 times a year!

I would like to challenge all of you to come to the next drive. I have tee-shirts available for any first-time donors you might bring along!
