Date and time set for premiere of Tooke bucking horse film

Around forty people attended the Carter County Geological Society Founder's Day event held on March 15 at the Events Center. After a dinner, Ken and Theresa Howie provided updates on the progress of their documentary, Feek's Vision. The trailer for the film was also shown.

Feek's Vision is the story of Feek Tooke and the Tooke bucking horses; horses with champion-producing bloodlines that have impacted the history of rodeo and still play a strong role today.

As excitement builds for the film at both the local and national levels, the couple spoke about the immense work and joy it has been traveling thousands of miles to interview rodeo greats such as Larry Mahan, Ty Murray, Deb Copenhaver, Harry Vold, Mel Potter, and more.

Recently, Ken Howie Studios announced that the movie will premiere at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV on December 7, 2018. The date is significant, as December 7, 2018 will mark the 50 year anniversary of Feek's passing at the NFR. Immediately on exiting the arena after receiving an award for Tooke bred champion bucking horse "Sheep Mountain," on behalf of Rodeo Inc., Feek suffered a heart attack, and fell from his horse.

"Since the very beginning of this documentary project, it has been important to us that the film debut on December 7th," stated Ken Howie. "We're bringing the story to the world exactly 50 years from Feek's death in 1968," he continued, "How could it be released on any other day?"

Theresa Howie, producer, expressed appreciation to The Orleans Hotel & Casino and Boyd Gaming, saying, "We couldn't be more thrilled to have partnered with the The Orleans for the premiere. The hotel hosts a number of organizations and events centered completely around the scores of rodeo fans who flood Las Vegas for the NFR, including Larry Jordan's Gold Buckle Reunion, Justin Rumford's viewing parties, "Special Cowboy Moments" filming events (a docu-series airing on RFD-TV for which Ken Howie is Director of Photography), Montana Hall & Wall of Fame and North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame events...the list goes on and on."

In addition to the premiere, Feek's Vision will run exclusively at The Orleans three more times during the week of the NFR.

"The December 7th premiere will be an invitation-only event, as a thank you to our sponsors and immediate members of the Feek Tooke family," explained Theresa Howie. "We're so pleased to be able to offer subsequent showings for everyone to enjoy."

A complete listing of Feek's Vision screening dates, times, and ticket information, as well as The Orleans Hotel & Casino rates and booking information will be shared at a later date.

Howie is also planning a period correct rodeo re-enactment at the Tooke ranch this summer in order to get footage for the film. A date and time has not yet been set, but several from the area have already expressed interest in helping to put it on.
