Help set goals for Ekalaka Public Schools

Community cross-over activity slated for February 3rd

In an effort to bring thoughts, concerns, and needs of the school community to the forefront at Ekalaka Public Schools, superintendent Daniel Schrock and school board trustees have scheduled a community cross-over activity for next Saturday. Students, retirees, producers, and local business owners will be invited to participate. The purpose of the exercise is to provide a platform for trustees and these community members to discuss school related needs using a straightforward process.

Dr. Daniel T. Farr, former long-time superintendent in Sidney, MT, is scheduled to be in attendance.

“Dr. Farr brings practical-know-how and experience to the table,” said Schrock. “He has a great deal of experience and understands eastern Montana school districts..”

Community cross-over is a process that allows school leadership, trustees, and administrators to connect with identified needs of the school community. In addition to needs, those in attendance will be asked about concerns, issues, and potential growth.

Updating district goals will also be a topic of discussion. Some goals laid out previously have already been met, Schrock explained.

“We completed the grade school building project and have been integrating technology in the classroom. The board members are asking folks to be involved and give input.”

The community cross-over activity is scheduled for February 3 at the grade school in Ekalaka. Participants will meet from 10am to noon, break for lunch, and then wrap up their discussion from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.
