Throughout the month of November, area EMTs Wayne and Deb Yost taught Carter County High School ninth and tenth graders basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). EMTs Jim Pardee and Judy Wright helped the students with the skills test in CPR upon completion of the course.
Students who took the class are now certified by the American Heart Association in basic first aid as well as adult, child, and infant CPR.
The month-long course was well received by the twenty-two students who participated.
CCHS physical education teacher Kayla Olsen was very grateful for everyone who helped to make the class possible.
