"If you're going to do something right, keep on doing it!"
That was the thinking and motivation behind the cookbook Tried and True, produced by the Homemaker's Heritage Club from the Ridgeway community in Carter County.
Their efforts of using recipes submitted by members with time honored results, including recipes from their first original cookbook, Hearty Home Cookin', was a success and many copies were sold. It has been the most requested item from the club.
One person commented, "It is the cookbook I use the most because the recipes require what is normally in my pantry."
This motivated the reprint of Tried and True. The book contains the same recipes-it just boasts a new cover and binding.
The club will be selling this new addition as well as their cookbook Home Style, an array of brooms, and a bounty of baked goods at the annual Christmas bazaar in Ekalaka.
Homemaker's Heritage club was established in 1982 as a nonprofit organization and has used the sale of cookbooks for community projects.
