Pansey Mae Boysen

A funeral for Pansey Mae Boysen age 80 of Isabel, SD was held July 30, 2017 at the Church of God in Isabel, SD. Burial followed in the Hillview Cemetery in Isabel under the direction of Oster Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Heaven gained a very special angel on July 25, 2017, when Pansey Mae Boysen, left this earth to spend eternity in her heavenly home. She passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Aberdeen, SD.

Pansey was born in Dupree South Dakota, on February 12, 1937, to Porter and Violet (Russell) Axland. She joined an older sister, Alvina, and later came to a very special "little sissy", Valera.

She first attended Cheyenne Agency school with her sister when the family lived in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. The time spent at this school was a bad period in the girls' life, so their parents moved to Isabel and the girls went to grade school there, and lived on Red Earth Creek.

On January 20, 1953, Pansey married Wayne Boysen of Firesteel, South Dakota, at the Norwegian Lutheran Church north of Firesteel. To this union four children were born. Three daughters Charlene Kay, Lori Ann, and Melissa Renee, and one son Jackie Dale.

In the early years of their marriage, Pansey lovingly raised her three daughters while Wayne worked construction and ranch jobs. They later returned to settle in Isabel for good, where Pansey worked hard at every job she had over the years, including operating the Isabel Café and liquor store, as a nutritionist at the senior citizens site, as a mental health coordinator, a resident specialist for Cheyenne River Housing Authority, an she also sold Avon and cleaned houses for new HUD homes. One thing was for sure, Pansey always worked harder than most, and was the kindest, most loving mother anyone could ask for. She was also known for having an immaculate home. But her pride and joy was her daughters and her grandchildren. She loved them all very much. Pansey was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, and had the kindest heart.

She is survived by her husband Wayne of 64 years; daughters Charlene (Steve) Larson of Mt. Vernon, SD, Lori (Mike) Grage of Timber Lake, SD and Missy (Rick) Weber of Valentine, NE; sister Valera Cox of Chico, CA; eight grandchildren, Aurora (Floyd) Newell, Misty Harris and Richard Young of Billings, MT, Sabrina (Darrin) Plucker of Chancellor, SD, Carson Grage and Bobbi Jo (Grady) Kraft, both of Timber Lake, SD, Brian (Sarah) Weber of Hutchinson, KS and Reece Weber of Valentine, NE; two step grandchildren Candice and Heidi Young, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Pansey was preceded in death by her son Jackie Dale, her parents, Porter and Violet Axland, sister Alvina Dearborn, Grandmother Martha Mundt, and Grandfather John Russell, son-in-law Chuck Young, step grandson Donald Young, step great grandson Kayden Kraft, and brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's.
