“Freedom Watch” is the quilt pattern displayed on the front of the 2017 VFW Aux. queen-sized, raffle quilt. The quilt face is made entirely of recycled wool, in blue, black, white, off-white, yellow and red. The blue squares with black appliqués show the warrior or hunter returning from battle. He slumps on his horse at the top of the circle of animals in southeastern Mont. before white men. Those were bison, bears, wolves, elk and deer.
The top and bottom display bald eagles, with white heads, yellow beaks, and black feathers, in a Native American pattern. The borders are red, white, and black. The raffle quilt back is a Native American pattern, in blue wool flannel. The quilt has been valued at over $4,000! An investment of $10 for 12 tickets is a small price to pay for a chance to win this warm piece of artwork.
