American Legion offers rifle raffle as fund raiser

Local American Legion Post 60 is conducting a rifle raffle fund raiser to help support Post projects. First prize for the raffle will be a Ruger Mark 77 Hawkeye .30-06 hunting rifle complete with a Bushnell 3x9 variable scope. Additionally, $100 will be awarded as second prize with $50 as third prize. Tickets are priced at $10 each.

Tickets are available at the Carter County Museum, Summit National Bank, Main Street Market, Wagon Wheel Café, and Dawg House Pub, as well as some Legion members. The Horse Creek Gun Shop is also a sponsor of the event.

The drawing is set for September 24 at the annual American Legion pancake supper, held at Wagon Wheel Café. Ticket holders need not be present to win, and must be 18 years of age or older. A federal background check will be required for the winner of the rifle.

Among the Post 60 projects supported by the raffle and pancake supper are financial support for CCHS students attending Montana Boys State, and a $500 scholarship awarded annually to a graduating senior.
