Tanner McInerney earned the title of All-Around Cowboy at year's end in the Wyoming High School Rodeo Association.
He finished fourth in tie-down calf roping, 3rd in team roping, and 6th in steer wrestling. He also earned the governor's award as the top Junior Cowboy in grades and points earned.
Finishing in the top four earned him an opportunity to compete on the Wyoming team in tie-down and team roping at the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) to be held in Gillette, WY beginning on July 16th.
The NHSFR is the world's largest rodeo with over 1750 contestants from the US, Canada, and Australia. There are more than $200,000 in prizes and $350,000 in scholarships awarded. Rodeo performances are at 9am and 7pm daily. McInerney will compete in the tie-down on Monday at 7pm and Friday at 9am. He will compete in the team roping on Tuesday at 9am and Thursday at 7pm.
