Even though school has been out for almost a month now, summer vacation hasn't quite started for the Carter County FFA chapter. On May 18th, Grafton Bonsell, Mick O'Connor, Seth Kennedy, Hannah & Heather Labree, Jordan King, and Jaelee Strangford, with the help of Sarah Strangford, Cam Labree, and Mr. Whitney, cleaned a stretch of Hwy 323 to fulfill the chapter's part in the Adopt-A-Highway Project.
Then, on June 15th-18th, Strangford and the Labree twins attended the Alumni Leadership Camp (ALC) in Highwood. The weekend was filled with informational workshops on how to be a confident, strong leader, not only in an FFA chapter, but in the rest of life as well. Saturday night, campers were treated to a banquet catered by Pioneer Meats from Big Timber, MT and a dance later in the evening.
All three members from the local chapter gained not only leadership skills and lessons to take back to the chapter in the coming school year, but an abundance of friendships to last a lifetime. So, even though there has been little rest for the members of the Carter County FFA Chapter, the year is shaping up to be very promising indeed.
