Jardee, Paul reelected to Southeast board

Southeast Electric Cooperative held an annual meeting last Friday at Carter County High School.

Attending members ate a free roast beef dinner and received a rain gauge for attending. Several who attended were also lucky enough to win one of several door prizes. Two lucky winners even received $500 cash grand prizes.

Dave Hayden gave the president’s report. Karen Kreitel gave the treasurer’s report, and Jack Hamblin gave the manager’s report.

As of December 31, 2016, the cooperative had $15,092,821 in assets and $15,092,821 in liabilities. The cooperative had $8,591,078 in revenue and $6,957,505 in expenses for a net margin of $1,633,573 in 2016. Seventeen more members were billed in 2016 than 2015. Members of the cooperative used 128.69 KWH in 2016 compared to 130.55 in 2015. Southeast Electric purchased 80,197,126 KWH in 2016.

Leroy Jardee, District 5, and Albert Paul, District 9, were both reelected to the Board of Directors.
