Special election May 25

Carter County voters are reminded that a special election to elect the United States Representative for Montana will be held on May 25, 2017 at designated polls in Carter County. This election is being conducted statewide to elect an individual to fill the unexpired term for Montana’s only representative position in Congress. The position was vacated when Representative Ryan Zinke accepted the appointment of Secretary to the Department of Interior.

Town of Ekalaka and rural Ekalaka voters may vote at the Carter County Events Center located at 209 W. Speelmon Street in Ekalaka, Montana. Polls will be opened at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM.

Voters for Alzada and the surrounding area will vote at the Alzada Community Hall located at 142 O’Fallon Street in Alzada, Montana. Polls will be opened at 12:00 noon and close at 8:00 PM.

Voters for the Hammond and Boyes areas will vote at the Boyes Community Hall located at 10460 Highway 212. Polls will be opened at 12:00 noon and close at 8:00 PM.

Any Carter County elector wishing to vote absentee may do so by requesting a ballot from the Carter County Clerk and Recorder’s Office in Ekalaka no later than noon on Wednesday, May 24th. Individuals who wish to vote but cannot make it to the polls on Election Day are encouraged to do so at the office as mailing may delay the ballot being delivered on time.
