On Tuesday night, votes for the recent school election were counted.
Unofficial results show that Samantha Harris has been elected to fill a three year term as trustee for Ekalaka Elementary District #15 and High School District #3. Harris tallied 268 votes. Her opponent, Shay Beyer, had 123.
Both levy propositions on the ballot also passed. The levy to finance the high school general fund in the amount of $5416.38, approximately 0.11 mills, had 334 votes for and 180 votes against.
The second levy on the ballot passed by a much smaller margin. That levy is for financing the high school building reserve fund in the amount of $100,000 per year for three years, approximately 2.01 mills per year. There were 269 votes for the levy and 238 votes against it. The money will be used to replace the 37 year old boiler currently used to heat the high school.
