Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association’s Annual Health Fair blood draw is scheduled for April 18th, 19th, and 20th from 6:30am – 10:00am at the Carter County Events Center. Cost for the basic blood draw panel is $35, and if men want to have a PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) checked, they can do so for an additional $25. As always, payment is due at time of service since the hospital is not able to bill insurance for these blood panels.
This year two new tests will be available. The Anemia Panel is $25. This test measures iron, total iron binding capacity, transferrin, vitamin B12, & folate. The Hemoglobin A1c test is $15; it evaluates the average amount of glucose in the blood over the last 3 months. This is a common test used to gauge how well diabetes is controlled.
Please be sure to NOT eat or drink anything other than water for 6 hours prior to the blood draw. The basic blood draw panel includes a Complete Blood Count, Cholesterol Profile, Liver Function Test, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, Chemistry Panel, Uric Acid, and more; all at a fraction of the cost if done elsewhere.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity! Lab results will be available for pick up at the health fair review at the Carter County Events Center on May 3rd starting at 4pm.
