    The CCHS volleyball girls finished their season with two home matches last weekend, and continued their hot, recent play by winning both games in three sets. Against Circle on Friday, the Bulldogs won 25-13, 25-19, and 25-17. Whitney Kittelmann led the team in assists with 16 out of the team's 32.     CCHS Bulldog football finished their season on Friday night in Jordan. The Dogs played a great first half on defense, holding the Mustangs to 8 points. They weren’t blocking well on offense, though, and had trouble moving the ball. They didn’t score in the first half. With some halftime adjustments, the Bulldogs did move the ball some coming out of the break. But, after scoring to cap a long drive, they allowed the ensuing kickoff to be returned for a touchdown.     Last weekend the Ekalaka junior high girls won all four basketball games they played. On Friday in Jordan, Ekalaka B held Jordan B to six total points and a scoreless fourth quarter.     Last weekend the Ekalaka junior high basketball season started. On October 12, the Pups took on Sacred heart at home. In the B squad game the girls won a tight contest 25-24. Kendra Tooke scored a game high nine points and went 1-4 at the charity stripe.     The CCHS Bulldogs continued their hot play by winning 12 sets in a row dating back to October 8. The closest set was in Buffalo, SD when they won 25-21. The team has tallied at least 30 kills in each of those last 4 matches and has had an impressive total number of digs (166).     CCHS senior football players Caleb Fix and Mason Lovec will remember their final home game as a win after the Bulldogs trounced the Center-Stanton Wildcats 54-22 last Friday at Rowley Field.     Last Friday, CCHS took on number one ranked Wibaux in a 6-man football game at Rowley Field. An emphasis for the Bulldog defense was to keep Tel Lunde, Wibaux's junior quarterback, from scrambling outside the pocket. They were able to hold him to only one rushing touchdown.     On Saturday, Carter County High School hosted the Willa Nies Memorial Volleyball Tournament. Northern Cheyenne, Jordan, Custer/Hysham, Terry, Broadus, CCHS Varsity and CCHS JV all participated.     The 2018 Bulldog Jr. High Volleyball had a great season. There are 17 girls, fifth through eighth grade. Practice started the first day of school, and their last game was on October 1.     The Bulldog defense couldn't get any stops in the first quarter at Savage last Friday night. Savage seemingly moved the ball at will and had a 32-6 heading into the second. CCHS was shorthanded due to injuries and ineligibility, and several players had to play new positions. In the second quarter, the Dogs got into a rhythm on offense.     Last Friday, CCHS volleyball played JV and varsity matches against Jordan for homecoming. In the JV contest, CCHS battled but came up short, losing their first two sets, 23-25 and 20-25.     Carter County High School Varsity Volleyball won nine straight sets on September 8, securing first place at a volleyball tournament held in Scobey. To place in pool play, CCHS played one set to 25 against three different teams. Blue won all three of those sets and entered an 8 team single elimination tournament in first place.     Last year, CCHS kicked off their football season against the Richey/Lambert Fusion and lost 6-68. This year, Blue took on the Fusion in week two of the regular season. CCHS came out of the gates quickly as senior Caleb Fix ran the opening kickoff back 73 yards for a touchdown. The Dogs failed to convert the extra point try.     CCHS started this year's football season on the right foot with a strong win against the Froid/Medicine Lake Red Hawks last Friday. The Red Hawks came out in a tight formation and were stuffed repeatedly by the Dogs run defense.     The Ekalaka Junior High Pups kicked off football in Ekalaka last Friday afternoon when they took on Froid/Medicine Lake. The game was close and low scoring in the first half, 6-6. In the second half, Blue was unable to find the end zone, eventually losing 6-27.
