CCHS was tied with Jordan at the start of the fourth quarter in Ekalaka on December 21 but struggled on offense late, losing to the Mustangs, 57-63. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs opened their basketball season in Lavina against Reed Point-Rapelje. The girls controlled the majority of the contest, outscoring their opponent 17-1 in the second quarter, and winning by 33 points. The Ekalaka Junior High Pups girls basketball team finished in second place at their end of the year tournament on November 17. The girls handily defeated Melstone in their first game. In the next game the girls squeaked out a tight victory against Sacred Heart, a team they again played in the final game of the tourney. Last weekend the Bulldog men took the court in a start-of-season tournament at Lavina. Blue went 1-1 to start their season, defeating Reed Point-Rapelje and losing to Winnett-Grass Range. Last Friday, CCHS took on number one ranked Wibaux in a 6-man football game at Rowley Field.
