The Lady Bulldogs picked up a pair of conference wins before going on Christmas break. On December 21 in Wibaux, the Lady 'Dogs downed the Lady Longhorns, 56-33. As a team, CCHS shot 32 percent on two-point field goals and 29 percent from deep. They went 6 of 10 from the free throw line. Wibaux, meanwhile, went 6 of 21 from the line. Last Friday CCHS traveled to Baker to take on the Spartans. The Bulldogs fought hard but fell to the Spartans by five points. As a team, they went 8-11 at the free throw line. The CCHS Lady Bulldogs lost in a nail-biter on December 17th in Baker. Blue had a 10-point lead at halftime but turnovers in the second half let the Spartans back into the game. By the end of the third, the lead was down to four. In the final minute of the game, a turnover led to an easy transition bucket for the Lady Spartans. The CCHS Bulldog varsity boys' basketball team kicked off their season last weekend, falling to non-conference opponents Bridger and Broadview-Lavina. The Dogs had a rough second half against Bridger on Friday, getting outscored 40-14. Four Scouts finished the game in double figures. After a few JV games last week, Bulldog basketball teams officially kicked off their 2021-22 seasons over the weekend. The girls varsity team went 2-0 in Broadview, defeating two non-conference opponents, Bridger and Broadview-Lavina. On Friday against Broadview, the girls got off to a slow start offensively, but held the Bridger Lady Scouts to only two points. CCHS Lady Bulldog volleyballers ended their season at the District 2C tournament in Glendive over the weekend. In the tourney’s first match Blue defeated Wibaux in four sets. Carter County High School defeated Broadus by twenty-six points in their final game of the football season on Saturday. The game took place in Broadus and featured the fourth place team from each of the Montana 8-Man Eastern Conference's sub-divisions. The Bulldogs traveled to Forsyth last Friday night and got a much needed win over the 1-5 Dogies. The Bulldogs led for most of the game. The Bulldogs' record dropped to 1-4 on the season when they fell to the Spartans on Friday night in Scobey. It was the Spartan running attack that really did damage early on as the Bulldogs found themselves down 22-0 late in the second quarter.
