    Carter County FFA Chapter members recently had the opportunity to attend the 8th Annual John Deere Ag Expo held November 14 through 16 at Montana State University in Bozeman. The convention was filled with contests for students to compete in, workshops to attend and speakers to listen to. Nineteen Carter County FFA members were in attendance.     (Helena, MT) –Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that the application deadline for Montana Public Lands Field Trip Grants has been extended. The original deadline to apply was October 27, 2019, but the grant cycle will remain open until all of the available grants have been awarded.     Nearly 400 hunters came through three check stations set up around FWP Region 7 on Sunday during the opening weekend of big game season. Overall, traffic and harvest numbers were down from 2018, but many still managed to harvest something on a very cold, blustery day punctuated by snow.
