The mark is tied with December of 1999 for the fifth warmest average temperature ever recorded for the month. First Baptist Church in Ekalaka has established the “Dennis Bishop Medical Hardship Fund” to assist Dennis and Trish Bishop and offer them some encouragement. The desire is to offset expenses and financial losses during Dennis’ long illness. Dennis recently developed Guillain-Barré syndrome after having been sick with COVID-19. An angel tree for Dahl memorial residents is currently set up at the entrance to Carter County Courthouse. The tree was put up by staff members to help make Dahl residents' holiday a little bit brighter. Community members are invited to read through and find an angel of their choosing. Since the hospital is currently closed to visitors due to COVID-19, the angel tree will be set up at the entryway to Carter County Courthouse this year.
