Fourteen chapter members and around 40 guests attended the Annual CCHS FFA Banquet on Tuesday in the school's Tuggle Room. CCHS FCCLA served a meal to attendees. After electing not to produce a calendar featuring local photographs taken by local photographers last year, the Carter County Chamber of Commerce voted to print the community calendar again for 2023, due in part to high demand. The chamber plans to print the calendar early this year to catch Labor Day visitors and early hunters. The Ekalaka area VFW Auxiliary to post 7885 is having a quilt raffle again this year. The quilt is currently on display at Ijkalaka Grocery where tickets are also available. The drawing for the red, white and blue themed quilt will be fittingly held on July 4th. This year's quilt was pieced by local Denise Elmore and quilted by Vanessa Taylor of Boots 'N Bobbins. Unofficial results for the School District No. 15 and High School District No. 3 poll election show that Lisa Borchgrevink and Stefan J. Another spring blizzard swept through the area over the weekend. The system resulted in another 18.3 inches of snow and 1.34 inches of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.
