Votes were tallied Tuesday night for two recent school elections in Carter County. Unofficial results for the School District No. 15 and High School District No. 3 poll election show that Lisa Borchgrevink and Stefan J. For the first time in a long time, many active voters in School District No. 15 and High School District No. 3 will need to head to the polls to cast their votes. Polls will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 at the elementary school. There are currently 665 active voters for the school election. Another spring blizzard swept through the area over the weekend. The system resulted in another 18.3 inches of snow and 1.34 inches of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service. According to the National Weather Service, Ekalaka received 21.5 inches of snow during last week's blizzard. By 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 11.5 inches had accumulated, another 7.5 had fallen by 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday saw 2.5 inches. The snow resulted in 1.41 inches of precipitation. A project to survey and map grave sites at the Alzada Cemetery recently received a $4,000 grant from the Montana History Foundation. The grant was one of twenty-eight that were awarded across the state as part of the foundation's 2022 preservation projects.
