The Gumbo Gophers 4-H Club had a fun winter. We had a meeting in December at Alzada. We played a white elephant gift exchange game after our meeting, then we filled gift baskets and went caroling. There are, to date, six main reasons why Troy and Mikel Fruit have decided to sell the business they have built together for nearly forty years. On February 5th, eleven adults and 23 kids gathered at the Carter County Event Center for a Puptown Wrangler 4-H meeting. The Puptown Wranglers reviewed the 4-H constitution. The death of Fallon man, Isaac Carrier, whose body was found following a fire on Jan. 23 has been ruled a homicide and two men were arrested last week on charges related to the incident. On January 19, the Carter County Superintendent of Schools and Ekalaka Elementary hosted the county spelling bee and inaugural Noralla Thomas Memorial Geography Bee.
