In an effort to recruit more bus route drivers at Ekalaka Public Schools, the unified board of trustees recently voted to substantially increase driver pay. The previous route pay for Class E drivers (driving school SUVs) was $16.16 per hour. The board recently approved increasing that wage to $20.25 per hour. The Carter County FFA chapter traveled to Billings April 2nd-6th to compete in various career development events and leadership development events over the course of the week. The teams did very well while competing. Some of the competitions that teams competed included meat evaluation, food science, vet science, agronomy, parliamentary procedure, livestock judging and also agricultural mechanics.
