Dahl Memorial Healthcare received an additional donation to be added to the association's budding Endowment fund. Representing the Ekalaka Lions Club, Mike Quade presented Dahl Memorial Healthcare Foundation with a check in the amount of $5,000. Work is rapidly progressing on the inside of the new Dahl Memorial Healthcare facility in Ekalaka. Much of the electrical and plumbing has been ran to the twenty-one long-term care rooms on the eastern end of the building, and duct work is currently being prepped for installation. Workflow for the project is generally moving from east to west. Healthy, nearby residents are invited to bring their children to the museum's lawn on Saturday for 8th Annual Dino Shindig activities. No official plan has yet been finalized for getting Ekalaka Public Schools students back in the classroom amid COVID-19. A reopening schools committee met earlier this week to discuss options. The 2020 Traveling Collection of Juried Art, a collection of juried art from Montana and around the USA, will be at Ekalaka Public Library from July 29 until August 14. Carter County Museum has put a significant amount of energy to adjusting the Shindig this year in light of COVID-19. For a fourth consecutive year, Lynn Wallace of Wisconsin taught a basket weaving class in Ekalaka. Wallace held the class at her sister-in-law, Sue Schneider's home. Schneider said that the baskets take the better part of a day to make, and that the class, along with laughs, friendship and food, was enjoyed by those in attendance. There continues to be no cases of COVID-19 in Carter County, but the number of positive cases in Montana is increasing exponentially every day. Physical health assessments for all boys planning to play sports at Ekalaka Public Schools during the upcoming school year will take place from July 21 through July 24.
