Carter County Museum has put a significant amount of energy to adjusting the Shindig this year in light of COVID-19. For a fourth consecutive year, Lynn Wallace of Wisconsin taught a basket weaving class in Ekalaka. Wallace held the class at her sister-in-law, Sue Schneider's home. Schneider said that the baskets take the better part of a day to make, and that the class, along with laughs, friendship and food, was enjoyed by those in attendance. Plans for the Days of ‘85 are continuing as the event draws nearer. The annual fair and rodeo is slated for August 6 through August 9 this year. All events that traditionally happen at Carter County Fairgrounds are still a go, with only a few changes this year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. There continues to be no cases of COVID-19 in Carter County, but the number of positive cases in Montana is increasing exponentially every day. Physical health assessments for all boys planning to play sports at Ekalaka Public Schools during the upcoming school year will take place from July 21 through July 24.
