    Almost all of the regularly scheduled events that take place during the Days of '85 Fair and Rodeo took place in 2020, with only a few changes. High temperatures from Thursday to Sunday were around 90 degrees Fahrenheit and Ekalaka received no rain over the weekend. Some of the action from this year's events can be seen above.   • Museum calls for community quilt blocks

    In September, the Carter County Museum will celebrate Welcoming Week with a series of events geared around the theme "creating home together." The first of these events will be the display of a community quilt. Using the provided color palette create a 12" x 12" block and mail or drop it off to the museum by September 4, 2020.     As summer is waning and school is starting, First Baptist Church is happy to announce the return of AWANA clubs. Starting August 26, clubs will meet every Wednesday for the duration of the school year.     Carter County will conduct the 2020 General Election as an all-mail ballot election following provisions outlined in Montana Governor Steve Bullock’s directive implementing Executive Orders 2-2020 and 3-2020, and Title 13, Chapter 19, MCA. The General Election will be handled much like this year’s primary election, allowing for ballots to be sent to all active Carter County voters.     Areas in the southern portion of the county received a lot of rainfall in a short amount of time on July 29. A strong thunderstorm parked itself in the area, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a flood warning for the county. NWS received reports of over 4 inches of rain in some areas, and 4.25 inches at Albion within a 1.5 hour span....

    When author Howard Seaborne found out he had a big fan in Ekalaka he autographed each of his six books in the "Divisible Man" series and shipped them off to Deb Stieg. Seaborne added something special in them too, a chapter written with Deb and her husband Terry as characters in a story that occurs in Ekalaka.     The Montana Department of Transportation recently announced a proposal to seal and cover about 53.7 miles of MT Highway 323, north of Alzada. The project begins at the Box Elder Creek Bridge at reference post 17.7 and extends south for 53.7 miles ending at the intersection with U.S. Highway 212 in Alzada, at reference post 71.0.     Ekalaka Public Schools students will be back in the classroom next Thursday for on-site instruction. Back to school packets were mailed to parents this week.     Carter County Museum's Shindig had a different look and feel this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.     Dahl Memorial Healthcare received an additional donation to be added to the association's budding Endowment fund. Representing the Ekalaka Lions Club, Mike Quade presented Dahl Memorial Healthcare Foundation with a check in the amount of $5,000.     No official plan has yet been finalized for getting Ekalaka Public Schools students back in the classroom amid COVID-19. A reopening schools committee met earlier this week to discuss options.
