On the Saturday prior to Memorial Day, May 27, Stompin' Grounds coffee shop in Ekalaka will be putting on a formal gala at Carter County Events Center. The gala, named Diamonds & Dog Tags, will start at 6:00 p.m. and is for adults over the age of 21. Karen O’Dell, Senior Companion Director at Action for Eastern Montana, will be at the Senior Center in Ekalaka on April 27 from 11:30 to 1:00 giving “Grab and Go” bags to seniors. These bags are funded through a grant from the governor’s office of community and service. Each bag contains a blanket, flashlight & batteries, radio & batteries, and a first aid kit. Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association’s Annual Health Fair is scheduled for April 18th, 19th, and 20th from 6:30 am to 10:00 am at the Carter County Events Center. Cost for the basic blood draw panel is $35. This panel includes a Complete Blood Count, Cholesterol Profile, Liver Function Test, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, Chemistry Panel, Uric Acid, and more; all at a fraction of the cost if done elsewhere.
