    The VFW Auxiliary to Post 7885 will be hosting a ceremony on National Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, December 17. The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park in Ekalaka.     Carter County High School will be the site of a program honoring all area veterans on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The program was originally scheduled to take place on November 10th, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather. The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7th inside the gymnasium.     Once again, the CCHS drama class is gearing up for their annual Dinner Theater.     This will be the third year for Alzada's Tricks and Treats Halloween event. The event was the brainchild of Miranda Hendrickson and Catherine Richards back in 2019. The idea behind it was to have an indoor Trunk-or-Treat style event which has gained in popularity in recent years. Having the event indoors reduces concerns over unpredictable fall weather and the need to wear snowsuits underneath costumes. The event was not held in 2020 but resumed last year.   • Annual bazaar nears

    Sagebrush Service Club’s Annual Holiday Bazaar is quickly approaching. The event will take place on Saturday, November 19th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carter County High School gym. This year lunch, pie and coffee will be available. Free babysitting will also be offered throughout the day for preschool age children, and door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes.     The Alzada Community Club is busy planning it's next event, the Harvest Jubilee, which will be held at the Alzada Community Hall on Saturday, October 1st.     An Ekalaka Bump-N-Run is scheduled for Saturday, August 13 at the Ekalaka Airport. This year’s Days of ‘85 races will offer a full concession stand and beer garden.
