    The Carter County Fair board and T- & Casino are excited to see what the community comes up with for the fair’s pet parade this year. The theme for this year’s fair is “Carter County Fair, it’s a Jungle out There!” The theme leaves all kinds of possibilities for costumes so kids can let their imaginations run wild!   • Days of '85 Bump-N-Run

    The Annual Ekalaka Bump-N-Run is scheduled for Saturday, August 10th at the Ekalaka Airport. This year’s Days of ‘85 races will offer a full concession stand and beer garden. Admittance price is $10 for adults. Youngsters 12 and under will be admitted for free. Races will start at 11 a.m. No coolers are allowed. Ekalaka Bump-N-Run awards three scholarships each year.     Area military veterans are invited to ride on the veterans float in the Days of ‘85 parade, Sunday, August 11th. Those wanting to ride on the float are asked to gather at Carter County Museum at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday.   • Youth market sale during Days of '85

    The public is invited to attend the Carter County 4-H and FFA livestock market sale on Saturday, August 10th, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The annual sale will take place at the fairgrounds show arena in Ekalaka. As always, buyers will have a choice in which processor to take their animal(s) to. The families of the youth selling their market animals will do their best to deliver the animals to the processor.     On Friday, August 9th, beginning at 7:30 pm. at Carter County Fairgrounds, free fair entertainment featuring Morgan Seymour will be taking place. Seymour is a singer/songwriter from Dillon, MT. She has written songs about the western and rodeo lifestyle. "Rodeo Circus" and "Arena" Lights are among her originals.   • Next Journey Quartet coming to Ekalaka

    The entertainment for the Days of '85 Gospel Sing this year has local roots. Next Journey Quartet was begun in 2001 by four men with a love for Southern Gospel music and the desire to share the message of the Gospel through music.   • First Baptist Church plans 75th anniversary

    The FBC, Ekalaka, is planning to celebrate their 75th anniversary on September 14th and 15th, 2024. The church was founded around Christmas, 1949. A kickoff brunch will take place on Sat., September 14th from 10 a.m. until noon. Sourdough pancakes with all accouterments will be served.     Plans for the Days of '85 are continuing as the event draws nearer. The annual county fair and rodeo is slated for Thursday, August 8th through Sunday, August 11th this year.     Summit Volleyball Camp will be held at Carter County High School, Monday June 24 and Tuesday, June 25. This camp is open to all students who will be in third through eighth grade this fall.     This Sunday, June 23rd, the Ernest Tooke Memorial Match Bronc Ride and Futurity is taking place. The futurity will kick off the day’s events, beginning at noon.   • Golf and trap shoot in Baker to benefit local

    The 7th Annual Shots and Strokes, a memorial competition for late Baker resident Pat Harrison that pairs a golfer with a trap shooter, is set to take place this Friday and Saturday, June 21st and 22nd in Baker. The Sons of the American Legion in Baker help host the event each year.
