Last weekend, CCHS band and choir students participated at district music festival. The band received superior ratings (I) for performance and instrumental sight-reading. They performed “Air for Band,” composed by Frank Erickson, and “Black Tower Overture,” composed by Kevin Kaisershot. Gwenith Schultz, museum receptionist and historian completed the first phase of the Eagle Archive project on Friday, April 6, 2018. The project began in 2005 with volunteers including Jeane Koefelda. Gwen continued the work in 2008 and has been the lead staff member on the project ever since. The Carter County High School basketball season has begun. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of spectators attending games at CCHS, Ekalaka Elementary students were recently reminded of appropriate game attendance behavior. Ekalaka Public Schools will hold child developmental screening on Tuesday, October 24 from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. at Ekalaka Elementary School. The screening will be for children aged 0-5 who are not currently in kindergarten. Dear Eric, As freshman class advisor, I feel that some clarification is necessary regarding the freshmen not decorating the library window for homecoming. The real issue was lack of pre-planning and miscommunication, not unwillingness of the library to let the students decorate. One of the students had contacted the librarian in August to get permission to use their window.
