The Montana Department of Commerce recently allocated $1.3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money split between Dahl Memorial Hospital and Silver Bow County's historic Hotel Finlen in Butte. The Carter County Community Foundation (CCCF) recently announced this year's grant recipients. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Dahl Memorial Healthcare facility was held on September 6. Since then, Ekalaka has received 5.34 inches of moisture, and several inches of snow. Dahl Memorial Healthcare’s ice bucket challenge will be coming to a close on Sunday, August 11 following the Days of ‘85 parade. The challenge was started at the beginning of July by employees in order to raise funds to build a walking path around the block of the new facility.
