On Monday, Heather VanGelder from ONEOK presented an $80,000 check to Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association. The funds from the grant will be used to purchase twenty-five new Stryker hospital beds for the new facility that is currently under construction. The Carter County Community Foundation (CCCF) recently announced this year's grant recipients. The ambulance fund at Dahl Memorial Healthcare received $3,800 to help purchase a basket stretcher for rough country rescues. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Dahl Memorial Healthcare facility was held on September 6. Since then, Ekalaka has received 5.34 inches of moisture, and several inches of snow. Dahl Memorial Healthcare’s ice bucket challenge will be coming to a close on Sunday, August 11 following the Days of ‘85 parade. The challenge was started at the beginning of July by employees in order to raise funds to build a walking path around the block of the new facility.
